Amanda Specific Fail

So, I was trying to order a cake at the Walmart across the street from school for NJHS (trying--long story) when on my way out I passed by prosciutto and I thought, "That sounds delicious!" So I pulled out my phone, and went into Google. What came up was a prosciutto recipe with chicken and I thought, "My culinary adventures can start today!" So it did. But see, I skimmed the recipe, decided not to get Asiago cheese because I thought it was to top off the dish and I already had shredded Parmesan in my fridge. It was not just to garnish or for flavor. It was a legitimate ingredient. So after frying up the prosciutto, chicken, broccoli (which was microwaved admittedly and from a bag, but I did fry it at the end to season in with minced garlic. I didn't want to buy a whole head of broccoli and deal with cutting it--I am not good at cutting). This part went well. I didn't even overcook the chicken which is a huge deal if you are me. Lastly, I had to save a...
Small update just to keep this on my mind until the summer. I love April. There is so much to do around town. This weekend, I went to The Highland Games. It was so much smaller than the Renaissance festival that I attend every year. This only made it better due to the fact that I didn't have to push my way through people to get from point A to B. AND they had a vendor that sold scones with clotted cream! I haven't had clotted cream in about four years. It was amazing! I was going to buy some, but then decided I would try my hand at making it. We will see how that goes. Watching the actual games was fascinating. They were athletes competing to go on to the world championship, which takes place in France this year, yet it seemed so much more approachable. Plus, watching men throw giant 65 pound poles as far as they could and watching them throw packed hay 20-35 feet in the air was fascinating. I also was able to buy (which I shouldn't have due to the car and my washing ma...

The Why of It All

Now bare with me. I am getting to the "why" of this whole blog and the inspiration behind it. It's a bit of a process and, honestly, a bit out of character for me to create. I have a Facebook, and live online, but I never post to my Facebook, don't use Twitter (unless you count the account I started so I could look up spoilers to TV shows on my phone--and never once tweeted on), and accidentally created an Instagram (which I have never looked at). So the idea of me posting anything online is rather baffling. But I find myself a lot more comfortable with the blog format. Largely because I don't expect anyone, except me, to look at this. And I ultimately think that is why I am more comfortable about it. It also helps that I do not really know how this works. So, how this all started... Yesterday, I was discussing summer plans with a coworker. Other than obligatory "lesson plan," I realized that for the first time in my adult life, I have no concrete su...
